Review:

Used the old google machine and wanted 3 doors programmed. They were working fine until I tried to set a new remote. Real nice dude came by and wasn’t able to help. Doors are du crooning worse now and I was told I needed to replace all three doors. No thanks. Just wanted a reprogram. Bought a remote from the guy for no reason as well. Door opens now whenever my neighbor uses his door. Not impressed when the solve is buy new stuff from us vs working with a previous system. Can’t say I’m Satisfied $150 later... for nothing. Tech was cool but when it ended I had somehow bought an opener and now the doors are worse.

Review:

The company was very responsive to my request for a quote and the employees were very friendly etc...However, I went with a different company for the reasons listed below. I had requested a quote for two garage doors. One was a 7x16 door and the other was a 7x8 door. I received quotes from Precision and another reputable firm for the exact SAME doors. 1) the initial quote was $1,175 higher than another firm for the EXACT same door...mfr, style, color, glass, etc... 2) After no response from me for about a week due to having a much better quote, Precision door called me to let me know that they could do much better on the price. This was by “waiving” the $650 of installation fees. Then, they could greatly reduce the cost by making a color change. This got them to the same price as the other firm. Read on.... 3) What Precision door did not disclose was that the less expensive “color” was a much cheaper product because....the wood grain was in a single direction instead of bi-directional and the finish was painted as opposed to being a baked on finish. In the end, they got to the same price as another reputable firm that was providing a better product (better finish). Everything else about the product was the same...same mfr, same series of door, same glass, etc... Anyway, I went with the firm that was up front and didn’t play games. Very disappointed in the business tactics used by Precision...no business from me.

Repair fine but disappointed in trip fee and environmental surcharge that competitor did not charge two weeks for similar repair at different location. Also, left garage door opener inoperable so I had to fix myself.

Review:

The product Precision sells is very good, as is the quality of the installation. But, if you're looking for responsible customer service, and guaranteed prices, and for promises to be kept this is not the company to use. I am a senior, and a disabled Veteran. My scheduled, and confirmed appointment was from 0800-1000. I re-arranged my schedule for the day to accommodate that promised time slot. At 0945 I called to ask when I could expect my service technician to arrive. I was placed on hold while they tried to get in touch with him. They couldn't, but promised to call me when they did. They didn't. I called again at 1015. They promised to call when they contacted the Technician. Again, they didn't. Technician showed up at 1035. Long story short, I was over charged $120 from the promised quote. Technician had a surly attitude with which I was not comfortable. I called the office again and asked to speak to a manager. They told me there was none available. I asked for the manager to call me the following day. I have yet to receive a call. Caveat Emptor!

Review:

A year and a half ago Precision door had installed new spring, rollers, and cables, etc. for my garage door and gave me "lifetime warranty at no cost for labor or parts." However, when my garage door needed a minor repair last week the technician charged me $84.95 for the "service call." I wrote to the owner (Brian) that this is not right to call labor "service charge" and not honor the warranty, but he did not reply. I dislike giving poor reviews but I have no choice here since in my view Precision Door did not honor its terms of warranty. A company should not tarnish its reputation like this.

I would still like to have my garage door fixed properly. It does not shut not lock properly If someone just comes and moved it to the side it will open. Plus the upper corner does not close all the way.

Review:

Work was great, price wasn't so great. Seemed like the price was at least twice what I would have thought for the parts and labor that were installed. Only took about 45 minutes to install two extension springs and four pulleys. Ask for itemized statement, electronic version that is e-mailed only has total amount indicated and no break-down.

A Response from: Dave P

Terry, You should of received an emailed Itemize statement along with your inspection, warranty and the Good, Better and Best solution for your door. I left a message for you, but have not heard back, so I'm mailing a duplicate Itemize statement to you. The parts purchased include the labor and tax. I did notice that you went with the better option, and replaced your pulley's, the pulley's are a commercial grade and will last you much longer than your original pulley's. We appreciate you choosing Precision and want to make sure your happy, not only with the service, but the price of the service. Thank you for taking the time to write to us and commending our service tech's for a job well done...

Review:

Price quoted on the phone was for materials only. A labor charge was added. You should be clear that the quoted price is materials only. Lubrication/disposal fee is ridiculous. You could have left the springs in my garbage. Classic bait and switch. It would not have been as easy for you if I had been home.

A Response from: Brian

Thank you for your review. I can understand your frustrations working second hand and not being informed. I reviewed the phone call your wife placed. First, To clarify we do charge labor with all parts installed ( included in parts price ) or bid on site jobs that do not require our parts, but more as labor to complete a task at hand, and the quote is confirmed beforehand by the Tech and all parties. We do however have a service call that does not have any labor attached to it for the purpose of repairs, but to schedule your timeframe and complete a full inspection of your door and opener and provide you with a complete solution to fix your door to standards recommended by the International door association. We do offer a discount on such service call when customers perform service at time of discussed timeframe. Secondly, Materials/Lube/Environmental/Maintenance Fee, Is standard in EVERY single service company. You are paying for it somewhere. Nothing would of made us happier to have you the decision maker at home. You would have seen and learned the importance of how all the functioning parts play a role in your everyday usage to minus frequent repairs of essentially your front door. Our Goal is Simple To provide 3 things. 1. Best Service = Professional and on time 2. Best Parts = We exceed the industry standards 3. Best Warranty = Peace of mind If you find that we missed on our Goal let me know. I hope this brings light to your concerns. Sincerely,

The lead guy was rude. Gets there at 4:30 and says - do you have coffee? My husband made a pot and then he asked for cream and sugar. Really? He couldn't have stopped at QT? He got snippy when the email receipt didn't come they the first time he tried it and he had to retype everything. The guy with him was very polite.

A Response from: Brian

I sorry for your experience and i spoke to the tech. since something didn't sound right. After they arrived your husband asked it they would like a beverage and he said sure if you got coffee! ( being cold outside ) Our company has gone paperless for the most part and this new technology can be a little frustrating he meant no disrespect towards you and only his discomfort with his new ipad.

Tobin was a very personable and knowledgable technician. Explained everything well (much better than the customer service rep who set up the appointment) Performed the work in a timely and professional manner. The website could use a little work by explaining the available discounts, coupons, etc better.
